Cupcakes Three!

I needed some birthday cards, and I found a Mojo Monday sketch that I liked.  I went with my SU cupcake stamp set and coordinating punch.  DP is SU Eat Cake, retired.  Colors are Blushing Bride, So Saffron, and Poppy Parade.  Ribbon is PTI.

On the inside it says "it's not how many candles you blow out but how many cupcakes you get!" and happy birthday of course.

Thanks for looking!  Leave me a comment if you like what you see!

Banner Birthday

Did everyone have a good weekend?  We did.  We went to visit my parents in TX.  It was beautiful, warm and sunny there!  It's snowing like crazy here (Mon).  The kids haven't been to school since last Wednesday.  Probably won't go tomorrow either.  I think after I write a few more blog posts, I will venture down to the stamp room and have some fun.

This cute little card was made with my new SU Hearts Aflutter stamp set and dies from the current Spring Mini.  All supplies except the card base (PTI) are SU.  Colors are So Saffron, Blushing Bride, and Poppy Parade.  There are yellow stickles on the candle flame on the sentiment.

I am loving these banner stamps and dies!  They are so fun to work with.  Expect more cards with these LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope it's more spring than winter wherever you are!

Easter Card

This card is VERY bright!  Let me tell you how it came about.  I have a bag full of die cuts that I cut for something and didn't use.  The pink scalloped oval was in there so I built the card around that!  Found a scrap of patterned paper that matched, and with all the pastel colors, it became an Easter card.  Scripture is ODBD; everything else is SU.

I'm not sure how much I like this card--it's bright even for me lol.  Maybe too many different colors?  Ribbon needs to be shorter?  If it doesn't sell I can send it to someone.

Hope you have a great day!

Sycamore Street

This patterned paper called Sycamore Street is one of the rewards you can get during SU's Sale-a-Bration.  I found an old Mojo Monday sketch that I thought would be perfect.  I meant to emboss the Island Indigo layer but I forgot, so it looks a little plain.

Sentiment is stamped in Calypso Coral; card base is Pool Party.

Thanks for looking!  Have a wonderful day!

Guest Blogger Today--My DD!

My daughter started her own blog today!  Please check her out at SO SO Fabulous and leave a comment for her!

We had a snow day today!!  That is what inspired me to make this card.

First I chose my pattern paper.  I thought it was not as busy as the others and I didn't want to take the attention away from the snowman.  Then I chose a dark blue card stock for the layer.  I thought it was nice because it accented the dark blue snowflakes.  Then I chose my snowman.  I wanted him to be tall and skinny because it would stand out from regular snowmen.  My mom's blog, The Stamping Tree, helped me cut the corners and make the rhinestone snowflake.  I colored the snowman and cut it to the right size and made the red layer.

I hope you enjoyed my first post!  Thank you for checking out my blog!  Please leave a comment if you like what you saw.  Please check out my mom's blog too!
Thank you!!!

Quilt Cards

Who doesn't love a nice cozy, handmade quilt?  I do!  I really love this new paper by SU called Tea For Two, and it goes very well with PTI's Quilter's Sampler sets.  Card bases are Gina K Heavy Base Weight in cream, and I used Nesties; all other supplies are SU.  Colors are Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, and So Saffron.  Ink is Early Espresso.

When I love patterned paper, I find it VERY difficult to cover it up!  So I just added sentiments and ribbon, plus a few buttons.

I will be donating cards to sell at our women's retreat to benefit the UMW.  There are a lot of ladies who quilt, so I expect these to sell very well.  I plan to make more.

Thanks for dropping by today!  Hope you get some craft time in!

Handmade Journal

For my church's women's retreat, I volunteered to make a handmade journal as a door prize.  I didn't want to just cover a composition book, as I hate the blue lines on the paper.  So I cut the covers and pages myself, decorated the covers, and bound it with my Zutter Bind-It-All.  I used one-inch O-wires.

Most of the supplies are SU, except for the heart charm (Mike's I think), the doily (Wilton), and the DMC floss.   I got to use some of my new goodies--the honeycomb embossing folder and the rose ribbon from the Spring Mini.  The leaves are an SU Embosslit.  I used my Graphically Speaking cartridge to cut "journal".  It is layered over vellum and patterned paper.  I totally cased the front cover of the Spring Mini on this!  Colors are Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, and Pear Pizzazz.  Interior pages are cut from HL CS--there are about 90 in there, so it's a pretty good journal.

Here is the inside front cover--the inside back cover matches.  I had fun making this and will probably make some more.  Thanks for looking!

Turtle Shape Cards

Well, after my girly shaped pink ladybug card the other day, I needed a boy shaped card.  I found this cute little turtle on Create a Critter.  I just love making these shaped cards.

This first one was originally going to go on a Cool Caribbean base, but I didn't like it, so I cut out a white base for it.

Then I had a CC base I had to do something with so I made this one!

Here they are together.  I think I like the first one better but they are both cute.  I designed a bunch of little boy truck and car shaped cards on my Gypsy, but haven't made them yet--I think they'll be cute!
